Phil: Our room has tatami (bamboo) mat floors, so no shoes are allowed.
Instead, we take them off before we enter.
Poyao: Notice that my shoes are nicely stacked.... in Japan we are supposed
to turn the shoes around facing outwards when we take them off.
Phil: Home sweet home for the next three weeks. Yes, it's kind of messy,
but we're guys!

Poyao: It's not so bad once you get used to it, it is a little ticklish
at first.
Phil: Actually, a very nice shower. I like they way their faucets work!
Poyao: It's small, but cozy.
